For the first time ever, Götebros is bringing Gothenburg a proper, structured 3 Day Beginner Level Garba class. So by the time Navaratri comes around, you'll know what to do, whether you're Gujarati or not. Garba Course Dates: August 22, August 29, September 05 The course is progressive. Each class builds on the one before it, so book our early bird package to avail a price reduction. If you're not sure if Garba is for you yet, then Single Class Entry is a low-pressure way to try it first. What you will take with you? By the end, you'll have clear Garba basics at a beginner level and the "confidence" to twirl through Gothenburg's Navratri events like you've been doing it for years. And if you love it, there's a shot of "performing" Garba with Götebros at our Navratri event in front of 100+ people. Yes bring water bottles
We'd recommend starting from Class 1. The course is progressive, so Class 2 is built around what's taught in Class 1, and Class 3 builds on both(Class 1 and Class 2). Joining midway means you'll likely feel behind rather than caught up. If you're only sure about trying it once, Class 1 is the best entry point either way.
It's our way of rewarding people who trust Götebros and register for full experience without trials, versus those still deciding. If you try Class 1 and love it, you're welcome to continue at 89 kr/class — it just works out to a bit more than booking all 3 upfront.
Not at all! This is a beginner-paced folk dance class, not a fitness bootcamp. But garba involves some footwork and light turns — nothing intense, but it is real physical movement, so a basic level of fitness helps. If spins are difficult for you for any reason, just let the instructor know when registering or during workshop. We're happy to adapt the steps so you can still take part and enjoy the class.
No, our garba class is designed for all gender and age (if there are special limitations do let us know during the class and we will improvise steps for whoever needs simpler version).
Yes, please don't come on an empty stomach or fasting whole day. Since there's movement and some spinning involved, we'd recommend a light meal about 1 to 1.5 hours before your session.
